If a Game 7 became necessary, Sabathia would pitch on normal rest. A.J. Burnet and Andy Pettitte would pitch Games 2, 3, 5 and 6, all on normal rest. Joe Girardi would have the luxury of using Joba Chamberlain out of the bullpen, a role where he has enjoyed his most success. Chamberlain has a career 4.18 ERA as a starter and a 1.50 mark out of the bullpen. Fellow starter Chad Gaudin would also be available in long relief. Gaudin has an ERA of 4.00 in just over 186 career innings of relief work. |
