"This is exactly what I wanted to see when I decided to come back," Martinez told the Philadelphia Inquirer after the team celebrated the NL East title. "Hopefully, it doesn't end here." Martinez is making his fifth appearance in the postseason. "I think I chose a good team to come to," he said. "So far, me and Philly has worked out good for both sides. I don't think I needed to prove anything, but it is satisfying to be able to contribute like I have. "I'm not surprised because I knew when I came back [fully] from surgery I'd be OK given the amount of work I put in. It took time and work, but I finally believed I was healthy." |
