Jon Lester will start Game 1 of Boston's first-round playoff series with the Angels.

Josh Beckett and Clay Buchholz will follow Lester in the rotation.

Red Sox manager Terry Francona made the announcement on Sunday.

Lester will be available to pitch later in the series, if necessary.
