The Mets have already indicated they have no intention of making any alterations to Citi Field for the 2010 season, but they might be wise to move home plate 10 feet closer to center field.

The Dodgers moved home plate 10 feet closer to center field for the 1969 season, the same year pitching mounds were lowered. It was an adjustment that immediately met its objective: 96 home runs were hit at Dodger Stadium that season compared with the 49 that were hit the year before.
