Zambrano claims he'll retire after next season if he has another sub par campaign like he has in 2009. "Look, this is the only season I haven't won 16 or 18 or 14 games," he told the Chicago Tribune. "If it happens again next season, two seasons in a row, I'll quit. Believe me, I'll quit. I just have to put this behind me. "A lot of players on this team, it's been a disappointing year for us, for everybody. The only one who can say it's been a good season is (Derrek) Lee." Zambrano is 9-6 with a 3.69 ERA in 27 starts this season. |
