Zambrano Says He'll Retire If 2010 Is Like 2009

Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano is mentioning retirement once again.

Zambrano claims he'll retire after next season if he has another sub par campaign like he has in 2009.

"Look, this is the only season I haven't won 16 or 18 or 14 games," he told the Chicago Tribune. "If it happens again next season, two seasons in a row, I'll quit. Believe me, I'll quit. I just have to put this behind me.

"A lot of players on this team, it's been a disappointing year for us, for everybody. The only one who can say it's been a good season is (Derrek) Lee."

Zambrano is 9-6 with a 3.69 ERA in 27 starts this season.
