Piniella: Cubs Don't Need Much Tinkering

Cubs manager Lou Piniella doesn't believe that the team needs to chance much heading into the 2010 season.

"We're not far away from from getting close to where we were last year," Piniella told MLB.com. "I don't know about 97 wins [which they accomplished in 2008], but to compete and win a division again, we're not far away. A little touch here, a little touch there. You don't need a whole lot of things, so from that standpoint, [general manager] Jim [Hendry] is going to have a busy winter."

He said the team's first priority should be to get healthy.

"No. 2," Piniella added, "is to add a real nice RBI bat to this equation."

After winning the NL Central in back-to-back years, the Cubs are all but assured of missing the postseason this fall.
