Cuban pitcher Aroldis Chapman has been declared a free agent by Major League Baseball.

Teams can now start actively bidding for Chapman's services.

"It has been a dream of mine to pitch in the major leagues," he said in a statement issued Friday by his agent, Edwin Mejia.
