The Yankees badly wanted Joe Torre and the Dodgers to travel to New York in the 2010 regular season, according to sources.

Instead, the Yankees will travel to Los Angeles for a three-game interleague series against the Dodgers next June. Last spring, a preliminary schedule had series being played in New York.

There was some belief that the Yankees didn't want Torre and the Dodgers at the new Yankee Stadium, but a source told the New York Post that the team desperately wanted the series to be played at home.
