"I thought in that situation, when we need a win today, for him to take it into his own hands with no warning, I thought it was very unprofessional," A-Rod told the New York Post. The third baseman was ejected for the first time in five years. Foster came to his own defense after New York's 13-3 win over Baltimore. "He argued right after it happened. I let him do it. I let him argue a little bit, calmed that down. He argued during the [next] inning," the umpire said. "I ignored that. At the dugout, right before the [bottom of the fifth] inning started, I hear someone screaming at me. So I look over and there he is, screaming at me, arguing with the pitch. So that's why he was ejected, for arguing balls and strikes." |
