Yankees manager Joe Girardi says that the team is going to stick to their plan with Joba Chamberlain.

Chamberlain lasted just three innings against the Blue Jays on Friday night.

"We have a plan and we're going to stick to it," Girardi told the New York Daily News. "I thought he was aggressive with his fastball and he did the things we wanted, but unfortunately we didn't score any runs."

Joba allowed three runs on 59 pitches in the short appearance. New York's plan is to limit his innings heading into the postseason.

"It's a small body of work. I'm not going to get too caught up in it," Girardi said. "We've got to get him back to where he was. We believe that what we're doing right now is going to get him back there. What we're doing right now isn't going to last forever."
