Tim Wakefield could start for the Red Sox on Saturday against the White Sox.

Wakefield, who is suffering from a bad back, threw a 25-pitch bullpen session on Thursday.

Boston manager Terry Francona said the team will wait to see how Wakefield feels Friday before making a decision.
