The Rangers have lost third baseman Michael Young for two weeks because of a strained left hamstring.

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said Wednesday that young could miss "a couple" weeks or more.

Young got hurt running out a grounder Tuesday, pulling up after crossing the first base for the final out of the third inning of the Rangers' 5-2 win over Toronto.

The Rangers were 4 1/2 games behind the Angels in the AL West entering Wednesday night's action. They trail the Red Sox by 3 1/2 games for the Wild Card.
