The Yankees have no immediate plans to discuss a contract extension with Derek Jeter.

New York general manager Brian Cashman told the New York Times of the team's stance.

Jeter's contract expires after the 2010 season, and Cashman added that he'll likely handle talks with Jeter the same way he did with Jorge Posada and Alex Rodriguez.
