The Yankees will designate Josh Towers for assignment in order to make room for recently-acquired pitcher Chad Gaudin.

"Josh Towers will be DFA'd tomorrow to make room for Chad Gaudin. Towers was essentially an emergency backup plan for one day only," Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News wrote on his Twitter page.
