A.J. Burnett has struggled against the Red Sox this season, but won't worry about the past when he takes the mound on Friday night. Burnett will face off against Josh Beckett at Yankee Stadium as New York hopes to build on their 13-6 victory. The right-hander has allowed 13 earned runs in two outings against Boston this season, both losses. "The first time, the game plan got cracked in and we don't know what happened. And the second one, I was throwing the ball everywhere," Burnett told the New York Post. "I've moved on. I've looked at those tapes and done my homework. I don't worry about that." Yankees manager Joe Girardi believes that Burnett's fastball will tell the story. "He has to locate his fastball," Girardi said. "The first time against Boston with the 6-0 lead he got away from what he was doing. ... We know how much A.J. loves to compete and I would think it's very important." |
