Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi instituted a deadline of July 28 to deal Roy Halladay earlier this month, but it appears to be irrelevant now.

Baseball's non-waiver trade deadline is officially 4:00 PM EST on Friday.

Trade talks between Toronto and Philadelphia have slowed down considerably, but a lot can happen in three days.

A number of sources used the word "remote" to describe the likelihood of Halladay being dealt ahead of Friday's deadline.
