Knowing that they are unlikely to get a pitcher like Roy Halladay or Cliff Lee, the Yankee have turned their attention to Jarrod Washburn.

Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated has pointed out that Washburn is a pitcher that New York has liked for many years.

Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik informed teams over the weekend that they aren't ready to sell, but there is a sense that Seattle might pull the trigger on a few deals prior to Friday's non-waiver deadline.
