The Blue Jays have rejected a counteroffer from the Phillies for Roy Halladay, according to sources. Philadelphia wouldn't agree to send a package that included pitchers J.A. Happ and Kyle Drabek and outfield prospect Dominic Brown, so they made a counteroffer. They offered Toronto a four-for-one deal that included Happ and three of their most seasoned prospects. According to a baseball source, Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi informed the Phillies that the second offer wasn't "going to work." Toronto appears comfortable keeping Halladay if they don't receive an offer to their liking.
