Angels owner Arte Moreno claims that the team is pursing players, including Jays ace Roy Halladay. "We're keeping all our options open," Moreno told The Los Angeles Times. "If we can see a fair deal for someone we believe can help our team, we're going to compete there. We don't have any financial constraints." Halladay's contract expires after the 2010 season, and is owed $20.5 million over the last two months of this year and next year. Moreno acknowledged that the Angels made a big mid-season deal for Mark Teixeira last year, but dealing for a pitcher is much different. "It's harder to do," Moreno said. "The first thing is, you give up a lot of young kids, especially your pitchers. You're mortgaging your future. Pitching is always at a premium. The cost in free agency -- you need to develop from within."
