Jason Giambi's second run in Oakland appears to be headed for an abrupt end.

He is out with what the Athletics are calling a strained quadriceps, and isn't going to travel on the team's next road trip.

Mychael Urban of MLBlogs.com points out that a player with such an injury should be receiving regular treatment in the clubhouse, which Giambi hasn't been.
