The Angels are going to keep Vladimir Guerrero out of the outfield in an attempt to minimize the possibility of injuries.

Los Angeles manager Mike Scioscia is going to restrict Guerrero to designated hitter for the remainder of the season.

Guerrero has been on the disabled list since July 7, when he suffered a strained muscle behind his right knee and a straining hamstring. The Angels are hoping he'll return in roughly two weeks.

"He'll be DHing when he gets back," Scioscia said. "We'll keep him in that role. If he has another setback and gets pushed back another three or four weeks, you're looking at September."
