The contract simply prevents him from becoming a free agent. While Washington has not spoken directly to Strasburg, acting general manager Mike Rizzo has been in frequent contact for weeks with agent Scott Boras, according to Nationals President Stan Kasten. Strasburg seemed a bit concerned by the lack of communication since the signing deadline is Aug. 17 and many other Nationals draft picks are already under contract. |
