The Arizona Diamondbacks released veteran first baseman Tony Clark.

Clark, 37 and in his 15th season in the majors, was hitting just .182 with four home runs in 66 at-bats.

Presumably, the move was made with the intention of bringing first baseman Josh Whitesell back from Triple-A Reno and giving him a chance to play regularly.
