Reds outfielder Jay Bruce left the team's loss to the Mets on Saturday night after breaking his right wrist while attempting a sliding catch.

The injury occurred in the first inning of the team's 4-0 loss. He will to return to Cincinnati on Sunday to have the wrist looked at.

"I knew it wasn't in good shape when I got up," Bruce said after the game. "It hurt pretty bad. I was in pretty bad pain but you know it's part of the game I guess. Trying to make the play."
