The Phillies have decided to scout Pedro Martinez as an option for their pitching staff, according to team sources.

It was not known exactly when the team would take a look at Martinez, but rumors indicated that the Phillies could be in the Dominican Republic on Monday, with other clubs also watching.

Earlier this season, Philadelphia was not interested in Martinez.
