Yankees outfielder Xavier Nady could be headed for season-ending Tommy John surgery on his right elbow.

"It's the thing you try and avoid," New York general manager Brian Cashman said. "It could be the worst-case scenario ... obviously, it's just not a good sign."

Nady, 32, will be a free agent at the end of the season and surgery could end his tenure with the Yankees.
