Jake Peavy could miss as many as three months after going on the disabled list with a nagging ankle injury. The right-hander has been bothered by a right ankle injury since May 22, when he slid home against the Cubs. He has a partially torn tendon in the ankle. The Padres said on Friday night that it could be eight to 12 weeks before Peavy pitches again. "If you are pitching with ankle pain, that could change your mechanics and then you've got other issues," trainer Todd Hutcheson said.
