The White Sox concluded the amateur draft Thursday with the selections of Tyler Williams and Harold Baines Jr. Williams is the son of general manager Ken Williams. The younger Williams is a two-sport athlete who was headed toward San Diego State on a football scholarship before suffering a knee injury last fall. Baines, a left-handed hitting outfielder from McDaniel College in Maryland, was selected in the 45th round. Baines is the son of Sox hitting legend and first base coach Harold Baines. |
