The Red Sox left David Ortiz on the bench for Monday's game against the Twins and left-hander Francisco Liriano.

Boston manager Terry Francona said before the game he wanted as many right-handed hitters in the batting order as possible.

Ortiz is hitting .195 with just one home run, and the Sox are considering a move down the batting order.
