Aaron Rowand was moved to the leadoff spot on Wednesday and responded by getting three hits.

Combined, San Francisco's leadoff hitters were batting .208 (one homer, eight RBIs), the lowest average in the majors. Also last: 14 runs and .270 slugging percentage. The .285 on-base percentage is 28th.

"If he wants to put me in the one-hole, I'm completely fine with it," said Rowand, who was a .293 hitter with 15 homers in 73 games (59 starts) as a leadoff man. "You lead off just once. The rest of the game, the situation dictates where you hit."
