White Sox GM Ken Williams acknowledged he has spoken with the coaches about their future next season, but grew testy when asked about the performance of hitting coach Greg Walker.

"Why are you getting specific on him?" Williams replied. "We win and lose as a unit. We get in that coaches' room, and everyone has individual responsibilities. But we got Joey Cora, who is a major-league hitter. Ozzie Guillen was a major-league hitter. I had some at-bats. We've got guys here who have input in various areas. We're all baseball people.

"So when you talk about one particular guy, it's unfair when the hitting coach or pitching coach get too much credit when things go well and too much blame when they don't."
