The Cubs have placed third baseman Aramis Ramirez on the disabled list with a dislocated left shoulder, and first baseman Derrek Lee will have tests on his neck Monday. Ramirez will spend one week in a sling and about three weeks rebuilding strength in the shoulder before a timetable for his return is set. "Right now it would be premature to guess," manager Lou Piniella said. "It's very unfortunate for us, but what can you do?" Ramirez shouldn't need surgery, while Lee has been struggling through neck spasms lately. "We're going to have to step it up, gut it out," Piniella said. "The clubs that we play are not going to feel sorry for anybody, and rightfully so. We need a few of our guys to start hitting the ball a little better, especially with men on base, and go from there."
