Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton expects to return to the lineup on May 12 when he's eligible to come off the disabled list.

He tested his strained ribs by throwing on Tuesday, and things went well.

"A lot better today," Hamilton said Tuesday. "I thought I'd be a little sore today and I wasn't."

He has been on the disabled list since he ran into a wall last month.
