After eleven years in the minor leagues, Bobby Scales finally made his major league debut with the Cubs on Tuesday afternoon.

Scales, a utility infielder, singled to left field in his second at-bat for his first hit in the major leagues.

"It's everything you hope for when you play professional baseball," Scales said, according to Chicago-area media reports. "Some of us late bloomers have to wait longer than others, but I made it."
