The Mets have moved Oliver Perez to the bullpen, replacing him in the starting rotation with Japanese import Ken Takahashi.

Takahashi will make his first start for the Mets on Friday at Citi Field against the Pirates.

"Right now, we felt [a move to the bullpen] was the right decision and the right course," general manager Omar Minaya said.
