Ryan Braun slugged a homer off Jeff Karstens in the first inning and got drilled in the back in his next at bat.

Umpire John Hirschbeck warned both benches after the third-inning incident, in effect allowing the Pirates to take a free shot at Braun.

"We play them about 17 more times (actually 13)," said Braun. "Tell Mr. Selig, we'll see what happens. It's going to be interesting."
