In 2007, Joba Chamberlain's swing and miss percentage was 17 percent, last year it was 12 percent and through two outings this year it is six percent.

A high swing and miss percentage is expected when a pitcher is a short reliever, as Chamberlain was in 2007, but six percent is a concerning drop.

Chamberlain will start Friday's game at Boston.
