The Mets will keep Dwight Gooden's signature on a wall at the new Citi Field, but are planning to move it and put it under plexiglass.

The star pitcher signed the wall: "Doc Gooden/84 R.O.Y./85 Cy Young/86 W.S. champs," according to Mets spokesman Jay Horwitz.

The team was angry that he sullied a clean wall at the new stadium at first, but have since changed their tune.

"It's a new building," Horwitz said Tuesday. "We just didn't want anything written on the walls. We had a lot of calls yesterday, a lot of fan stuff."
