Phillies closer Brad Lidge saw his save streak of 54 end on Saturday against the Padres when he blew his first save since Sept. 23, 2007.

"I tried not to think about what it would feel like when it ended," Lidge said. "Now that it's over, I'm proud of what I did, but this is a new season, and I need to pitch better now."

His last blown save came when he was a member of the Astros, and it was his first with the Phillies.
