While having a friendly conversation with a police officer who had pulled him over for driving under the influence, Joba Chamberlain said that "opening a door and saying please and thank you" were not common in New York.

Chamberlain also said that if you let someone in Nebraska cut in front of you in traffic, that person would say thanks but in New York, "they might hit you. It's a joke."
