The Tigers filled their outfield vacancy on Monday by acquiring Josh Anderson from the Braves in return for minor league pitcher Rudy Darrow.
"He is a legitimate burner," Detroit general manager Dave Dombrowski said.
Last season, Anderson stole a total of 52 bases between the minor leagues and Atlanta.
