"I have no regrets, no remorse, no hatred towards anybody," Marquis said. Marquis, who said he wasn't surprised or upset by the trade, made no secret of being unhappy at times over how he was used during his two seasons under Cubs manager Lou Piniella. "Am I allowed to show emotion? I think so," he said. "It doesn't mean I was going to give any less if I was coming out of the bullpen or if I wasn't. I was just upset at the decision (in the '07 playoffs). And I don't hold grudges. It was that spur-of-the-moment-type deal. "We're all human beings. If something doesn't go your way, you have the right to be upset. Sometimes, whether it's the front office, your teammates, the manager, fans, they take it differently, like you're crying over it." |
