The Mets have reassigned Freddy Garcia to their minor league camp.

Garcia had said all spring that he would be reluctant to pitch in the minors this season ? On Feb. 13, the day he arrived, he said, ?If I can pitch, I don?t have nothing to prove in the minor leagues. I?m too old for that? ? but after meeting with Omar Minaya today he apparently changed his mind. Garcia will either remain in Florida for extended spring training or pitch for Class AAA Buffalo.
