On Saturday, third baseman Corey Koskie officially walked away from baseball because of concussion issues. "This is what I love to do -- I love being out there, being with the guys, the whole competition," he said. "There's no way you can replace it. But at some point you have to look at it realistically and say, 'Is it really worth sacrificing the rest of your life for a game?'" Koskie played for the Cubs this spring, but after making a defensive play this week he felt a little strange. "One thing I do know is after the play, I was sitting in the clubhouse saying, 'What am I doing here?'" he said. |
