Outfielder Tike Redman's contract was purchased by the New York Mets on Monday from the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 28-year-old Redman hit .251 in 319 at-bats last season with 20 doubles, two homers and 26 RBIs. He made his major league debut with Pittsburgh in 2000 and has a .277 career average, 15 homers and 101 RBIs in 392 games.
