The Mets have shut down reliever Billy Wagner, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery.

It's not bad news, necessarily, New York is just trying to slow Wagner down in the hopes that he won't re-injure his throwing elbow.

Wagner expects to be with the Mets for the season's final month, if not earlier, a source close to the former closer said.
