Yankees manager Joe Girardi says the Alex Rodriguez's rehabilitation from hip surgery on Monday is going well.

"He left me a message," Girardi said Wednesday. "He sounded good. Said: 'I'm doing well.' Good to hear from him."

Rodriguez had arthroscopic surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right hip.
