The Mariners reportedly lost $4.5 million last season, a campaign that they struggled on the field as well.

The loss was the first the team has incurred since they moved to Safeco Field in 1999. Seattle drew 2.3 million fans last year, the worst home attendance since the team moved to the ballpark.
