Mets ace Johan Santana and pitching coach Dan Warthen are at odds about what caused recent tendinitis in the pitcher's left triceps.

Santana believes the aggressive schedule for pitchers mandated by Warthen this spring prompted the pain.

Warthen disputes that, saying Santana over-exerted himself because of false hope that the Mets would let him pitch for Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic.
