"I don't think it was necessarily not doing the stuff, but it was taking it to the next level and maybe pushing it to a more intense regimen," Cain said. "That's what they wanted me to do. I think it's helped me a ton ... taking a little more pride in some of the sprints and some of the long-distance work. "At some point, I think I was a little hard-headed about it because I was able to maybe get away with stuff and not go with the running as hard as I had done in the past years. I think I understood what it meant to go after it a little more. I definitely felt a big difference toward the end of the season." |
